Healthy Family Supervisor - Cohoes
This is a community based program, visiting clients and families in their home and will be responsible for supervising program staff who assist parents in enhancing or learning the skills that enable them to provide a safe, healthy and nurturing environment for their children.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
- Provide supervision to and coordination of the family support workers, coordinating daily activities and schedules and evaluating program staff.
- Assist in the hiring and training of program staff.
- Participate in all program meetings and other cooperative activities established by the Program Manager.
- Assist in conducting community and public education sessions regarding the program and outreach activities.
- Liaison between the screening, assessment and intake/support program components.
- Assist in compilation of outcome data and in the process of continuous quality assurance and improvement.
- Educate parents on early childhood development, foster supporting bonds within the family unit
Education and/or Experience
B.S. degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or other field related to children and families preferred. Additional qualifications as per sub-contracting agencies requirements. Familiarity with theory of early childhood development and experience with early intervention practice.
Three years of experience with parenting education and early childhood development, or experience with multi-problem families in which child abuse or neglect was commonly found, preferred.
Certification/Licensure
Must possess a valid NYS driver's license, safe driving record, and have access to a vehicle for full-time business use.
