Murphy IT Team Member / Help Desk Technician
POSITION SCOPE: The IT Team Member/Help Desk Technician is responsible to provide fast and useful technical assistance on operating computers and phone systems. An excellent Help Desk Technician must have good technical knowledge and be able to communicate effectively to understand the problem and work towards solution.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Serve as first point of contact for associates seeking technical assistance.
- Ability to support, monitor, test and troubleshoot hardware, soFware and Information Technology (IT) issues
- Ensure all information systems are operated, maintained and disposed of per compliance directives
- Ensure all users have the appropriate security clearance, authorization, and need to know, and are aware of their security responsibilities
- Support the management and technical team by being an organizational bridge of communication and specifications
DESIRED SKILLS:
- Ability to support, monitor, test, and troubleshoot hardware and soFware
- Proficient in tools of communication (i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Internet resources)
- Proficient in Windows operating systems (Windows 10, and 11)
- Proficient with IOS devices (iPhones and iPads)
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills
- Understand basic internet and client/server architectures
- Ability to quickly learn new technologies and concepts
- Ability to work independently while also exhibiting a strong team approach to managing and developing business relationships
- Excellent communication skills that include listening, verbal and written skills
- Ability to easily switch between multiple tasks and manage time while contributing to multiple projects
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Associates or Bachelor degree preferred in an IT a related field: Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics or Business related field
- High degree of analytical skills; recognizes and responds appropriately to problems and challenges. Arrives at sound solutions through analysis and weighing of relevant facts. Uses good judgment in difficult situations. Understands and considers short and long term impact of decisions.
- Proven ability to work effectively within all organizational levels and departments to achieve desired results; the ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
- High level of motivation and initiative
- Ability to make decisions; capacity to solve problems
