Sentara Healthcare is hiring for a Housing Specialist, Remote in the

Charlottesville, VA and surrounding areas.

This job oversees the housing services and supports for LTSS services and supports (LTSS). The incumbent collaborates with federal, state and local affordable housing agencies such as Housing of Urban Development (HUD), State Housing Authority, subsidized housing, public housing authorities and voucher programs. The incumbent works with individuals and families receiving LTSS in finding affordable, accessible housing through one of the above-mentioned agencies. Assists in educating and assisting the case managers regarding affordable, accessible housing services for LTSS members.

This job is remote but will have occasional travel to nursing facilities and hospitals, must live in Southwest Virginia or be willing to relocate. Travel will be required to Saltville, Wise, Abingdon, Bland, Pounding Mill areas.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • HS - High School Grad or Equivalent required
  • 1 - 3 years' experience in community outreach or customer service required.
  • 1 - 3 years' experience in assisting older adults, the elderly, and persons with disabilities to secure accessible, affordable housing required.
  • 1 - 3 years' experience working with low-income housing providers to develop accessible and affordable housing for older adults, elderly, and persons with disabilities required.
  • Occasional travel to nursing facilities and hospitals will be required.
