Job Description Summary
Job Summary: Coordinates American Chrome & Chemicals (ACC) site HSE activities. Provides support to Elementis Chromium site HSE activities.
Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
  • Works safely, maintains a safe work environment, and participates in the implementation and support of the Corpus Christi Site’s Safety programs.
  • Performs and/or oversees HS&E sampling including wastewater, groundwater, waste streams, drinking water and air. Primarily in the field.
  • Performs and/or oversees operation of wastewater systems including Residue Treatment Area, Stormwater Collection, West 40 Wastewater Discharge Area and Residue Disposal Area. Primarily in the field.
  • Generates required HSE regulatory annual/monthly/weekly inspection reports (ie, Haz Waste Area Inspections, Stormwater Inspections, Wastewater monitoring, Firewater, Drinking Water).
  • Coordinates all Corpus Christi Site waste disposal activities including waste classification, profiling, and disposal.
  • Inspect and track upkeep of safety equipment as required by OSHA (i.e. Fire extinguishers, Safety Showers/Eyewash Stations, Spill Kits, Shelter-in-place Kits and First Aid Kits).
  • Performs and schedules maintenance of HS&E equipment and instrumentation (i.e, HSE truck, portable stormwater pumps, radios, LEL meters, Water Sampling Equipment & HSE Lab instruments).
  • Monitor activities to ensure that American Chrome & Chemicals facilities meet environmental expectations and requirements.
  • Updates and maintains required regulatory reports and files.
  • Assists in HSE incident investigations and initiates incident reports.
  • Oversees monitoring of industrial hygiene areas with regard to chromium exposure, heat stress, noise and ergonomics.
  • Maintain MSDS database to meet regulatory requirements and communication standards.
  • Assist in the implementing and maintaining the Corpus Christi Security Program
  • Cost control for areas of responsibility
  • Interface with outside laboratories as needed.
  • Makes periodic plant inspections.
  • Has regular, predictable attendance as per job schedule.
  • Attends training and departmental meetings.
Additional Job Description
Sufficient previous experience and exhibited technical expertise to enable an applicant to perform the required duties. A BS or equivalent degree in a Technical Field may be used to demonstrate technical expertise.

Proficiency in the use of computer software programs and systems (ie. Lotus Notes, Word, Excel, Access, Powerpoint) is required.
