Coastal Horizons Center, Inc., a recognized leader in substance abuse, mental health, rape crisis, prevention and criminal justice services in southeastern North Carolina, has an opportunity for a Human Resources Associate to join our team. The Human Resources Associate responsibility is to support the needs of the organization in the following areas; recruitment, new employee orientation, benefit administration, employee relations, HRIS administration, and diversity awareness.
GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:
Coordinate and support the recruitment process in partnership with HR staff, Program Directors and Supervisors for all open positions.
Determine position needs, create postings to source applicants, screen candidates, and assist managers in the interview process.
Provide assistance in conducting comprehensive orientation for all new hires. Collect appropriate new hire information and facilitate systems and procedures to ensure all documents are received for compliance with all regulations.
Maintain record-keeping systems (applications, employee files, benefit files, medical files, etc.) to comply with audit requirements.
Develop and maintain job descriptions for all staff. Determine exempt and nonexempt status.
Confirms proper processes are implemented and necessary approvals have been met as well as directs managers to appropriate resources.
Works with Program Directors and Supervisors in coordinating employment offers, and new employee on-boarding processes.
Qualification/ Skills:
Education: Bachelor’s Degree required, in Business Administration, preferably in HR concentration, or related field.
Experience/ Skills:
One to two years related experience in a Human Resources generalist position preferred, with demonstrated skills and proficiencies in positions essential duties and tasks. Should have a general knowledge of applicable employment laws and regulations.
