ESSENTIAL POSITION FUNCTIONS (listing Position Specific functions first):
- Serve as Human Resources Specialist for the agency with direction of the HR Supervisor.
- Assist in preparation for CARF, MDHHS, and BHDDA site visits, NMRE entity reviews, and delegated functions as assigned, i.e., Board Member verification, and any related audits.
- Perform all new hire background checks including but not limited to, criminal, degree verification, references, etc. to determine if an applicant is eligible for employment following agency policies and procedures.
- Conduct fingerprinting process for all Residential Care Aid (RCA) and applicants and applicable workforce members.
- Update/distribute union seniority/call-in roster for RCA’s and employee listing of board operated homes for RCA’s.
- Coordinate internships with qualifying departments.
- Provide backup and be cross trained in all HR functions.
- Post all open positions internally, on intranet, and externally.
- Monitor external web page and provide information to keep positions current.
- Assist agency supervisors with workforce hiring processes including creating ads, scheduling interviews, and assuring proper paperwork is completed for new hires.
- Responsible for recruitment of staff.
- Network with outside entities in recruiting (job fairs, colleges, NMRE, etc.) for staff and interns.
- Prepare and conduct orientation for new workforce members.
- Act as a liaison with new workforce members.
- Create job descriptions for new hires and update job descriptions for position changes.
- Provide weekly reports for Executive Committee and Accounting staff regarding posting status.
- Work with potential workforce members to assure paperwork is completed as needed for the hiring process.
- Participate in assigned committees.
- Provide advice, counsel, and assistance on highly sensitive and complex issues.
- Knowledge of benefits, FMLA, Short-Term and Long-Term Disability.
- Will provide assistance and backup to other HR Team Members
- Will provide backup to the Recording Secretary for the Board, committee, and other meetings as designated.
- Other duties as assigned.
