Insurance Verification Specialist Job at Clear Conscience Counseling, LLC
A key member of any health care provider is an insurance verification specialist. He or she is primarily responsible for making sure patients have proper insurance coverage for the services provided by the agency. A strong candidate will be able to successfully handle face-to-face and over-the-phone interactions with patients and their insurance companies to give the patient the best care possible.
Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Verifying insurance coverage for each patient
- Handling payments for services not covered by insurance
- Explaining coverages to patients
- Obtaining referrals for patients when they are not covered
- Updating patient information/keeping records
- Filling out the documentation required for billing
- Daily tasks include generation and submission of claims, posting payments and submitting remittances, eligibility verification, collections, accounts receivable follow-up, acquiring prior authorization from insurances, and insurance appeals.
- Understand & adhere to all HIPAA regulations regarding patient confidentiality & record keeping
Requirements:
Bilingual: English and Spanish
