Job Description

The Facilities Custodian will be responsible for cleaning and sanitizing offices, meeting rooms, bathrooms, break rooms, grounds, production area and equipment. We are looking for someone who is detail-oriented, flexible, and willing to take on routine cleaning and special projects as needed. The Facilities Custodian is expected to operate under the highest standards of compliance and professionalism.

Responsibilities

• Follow direction as delegated by supervisors to meet individual and team quality standards.
• Perform general clean-up of all areas of the building.
• Manage routine upkeep of exterior areas and parking lot.
• Maintain safe walkways both inside and out, including snow and ice on sidewalks.
• Complete non-routine cleaning per job orders.
• Properly dispose of plant waste and garbage daily.
• Prioritize emergency cleaning and upkeep requests.
• Ensure bathrooms, break rooms and offices are sanitized daily and stocked as needed.
• Generate work-orders for recognized building issues.
• Generate purchase-orders for facility supplies.
• Works in a timely manner and strives to increase productivity.

Experience and Requirements

• Must be 21 years old or older
• Operate floor scrubber, snow blower, and other equipment as required.
• Understanding and using sustainable products required.
• Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills among all levels of staff and clientele required.
• Work effectively with diverse groups of people among all levels within an organization; skill to work effectively as part of a team required.
• Perform role and job tasks effectively despite sudden deadlines and changing priorities required.
• Excellent problem solving and organizational skills required.
• Must work in a professional considerate manner at all times.
• Excellent record of dependability and reliability required.
• Must be a self-starter and work without direct supervision.
• Working knowledge of hand and power tools is preferred.
• Pass a criminal background check.
• Ability to interact with coworkers, contractors, and the general public in a positive and professional manner.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
