The Help Group is seeking a high energy, attention to detail, well organized full-time Job Developer to cover the Sherman Oaks area! Founded in 1975, The Help Group is the largest, most innovative and most comprehensive nonprofit of its kind in the United States serving children and adults with special needs related to autism spectrum disorder, ADHD, learning disabilities, developmental delays, abuse and emotional problems.

This program offers an enriched curriculum that also includes vocational assessments, career awareness and exploration, pre-employment skills training and work experiences to adults with disabilities.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

• B.A. degree required, bilingual Spanish Speakers strongly encouraged to apply.
• Education and experience in mental health, social services, business or related field.
• Two years continuous work experience working with individuals with disabilities or mental health challenges.
• Must be able to work Monday- Friday 9:00AM-5:30PM.
• Must be approved to drive agency vehicles and have a clean DMV report. Job development experience is preferred.
• Ability to attend meetings in the Sherman Oaks office as needed

EXCITING RESPONSIBILITIE

• Provide vocational assessment, employment preparation, job coaching, job development and job placement services to clients.
• Develop an Individual Vocational Plan for all authorized Department of Rehabilitation clients.
• Communicate regularly with referring therapists, program staff and Department of Rehabilitation QMRP.
• Conduct job clubs as directed by the Vocational Director.
• Determine a work plan for consumers and all activities relating to job placement.
• Review client assessments for job match including clients adaptive behaviors, family/caretaker attitudes; transportation issues, the clients willingness to work, and other relevant factors.
