JUDICIAL SPECIALIST SUPERVISOR
Customer Service Division

Pay Range: $21.382 - $26.727/Hourly Customer Service Division or as assigned
Essential Tasks: Plan, assign, review and evaluate the work of subordinate personnel. Report subordinate performance to
supervisor. Participate in selection of new employees. Recommend hiring and discipline of subordinates. Review court case
management procedures for compliance with statutory and rule changes and recommend changes to assure compliance and efficient
processing. Plan, draft and coordinate procedural changes or refinements for processing cases. Train personnel in processing court
cases. Identify, evaluate and recommend resolutions to case management issues and problems. File court documents and receive
fines, fees and bond payments; balance and reconcile daily cash receipts; prepare and make daily bank deposits. Respond to inquiries
from legal and law enforcement community and the public. Research files for case status and information regarding parties to case.
Open, reopen and close case files. Enter information into automated case management system. Track pending decisions. Maintain
retention schedule and prepare case files. Convert and refund cash bond payments. Accept and receipt restitution payments.
Generate court documents, arrange for service and mail to parties of a case. Draft correspondence in reply to requests for case
inquiries, record inspections or record searches. Research defendant wants, warrants and prior conviction history. Flag drivers’
licenses and issue approval to reinstate them. Pull case files and coordinate completion of court documents; docket court judgments
and sentences. Maintain logs and records. Ability to get along with others and to work under stress. May perform other duties as
assigned to meet the operational needs of the Court. A more comprehensive copy of the job description is available at

Qualifications: Education: A high school diploma or GED. Experience: Five (5) years of experience in court case processing, a legal
secretarial or a related field such as advanced customer service, data processing, and/or banking/financial experience, and two (2)
years of supervisory experience. Experience Substitution: Attainment of the Judicial Studies Certificate will substitute for one (1)
year of experience. Additional post-secondary education in a related field may substitute for up to one (1) year of experience. Thirty
(30) semester hours equals one (1) year of experience. Education may not substitute for supervisory experience. Supervisory
Substitution: Leadworker duties may be considered on a prorated basis for supervisory experience at a rate of one (1) year of
performing leadworker duties equals six (6) months of supervisory experience. Assigned leadworker duties include but are not limited
to: Train, mentor, and develop employees; direct, plan, schedule, assign, and review the work of others; develop or assist in the
development of employee performance plans and appraisals; and address concerns and troubleshoot problems. An additional two (2)
years of directly related experience may substitute for the supervisory experience provided the incumbent attends the NMJB
Supervisory Mentorship Program Training at their earliest opportunity. A post-offer background history and fingerprint check is
required.
Working Conditions: The following functions are representative, but not all-inclusive of the work environment and physical
demands an employee may expect to encounter in performing tasks assigned to this job. Work is performed in an office or court
setting. A valid driver's license and travel may be required. The assigned work schedule may include nights, weekends, holidays and
overtime. The employee must regularly interact positively with co-workers, clients, the public, and judges and justices.
