Our beautiful healthcare center is a CMS 5 start and top-rated facility along with Life Care Services awarded the JD Powers award for Customer Satisfaction. We also have 5 years of no deficiencies awarded to us by Maricopa County. These are very important awards which we intend to maintain. We are on the hunt for an experienced Kitchen Manager to help us maintain these high levels. A person to oversee the daily operations of our Acacia Health Center kitchen staff. As the kitchen manager, you will be responsible for overseeing food preparation, ordering supplies, scheduling shifts, and monitoring inventory levels according to food safety standards. Your duties also include hiring, training and scheduling.
To be successful in this role, the ideal candidate will have proven culinary and management experience. In addition to being an excellent communicator, you should also demonstrate outstanding leadership and organizational abilities.
Requirements:
- A minimum of 5 years of experience as a kitchen manager in a healthcare setting preferred.
- Culinary school/degree background is preferred.
- Knowledge and understanding of all local, state, and federal regulations related to food service.
- Demonstrates an aptitude for coaching, leading, and developing employees while promoting a positive culture environment.
- Flexible schedule availability including but not limited to weekends, weekdays, and holidays.
Job Description:
- Plans, prepares (hands on) and oversees the meal preparation for Acacia Health Center residents following appropriate recipes and special diet orders.
- Responsible for the operation of 2 full kitchens in the Health Center.
- Assists in daily menu writing and completes requisition sheets for all food used excluding fresh prepared menu items.
- Maintains high level of sanitation and organization with the Acacia kitchen and sees that other employees that are there in the Health Center adhere to the same principles.
- Knowledge of kitchen equipment operations and maintenance. Some knowledge of nutrition and diet.
- Ability to understand and follow instructions in English, communicate effectively and perform simple arithmetic. Ability to document.
- Ability to plan and organize work, to interpret instructions, recipes, specifications and standards.
A clean drivers license is required as we require staff that operate a golf cart to have a DL. Our receiving is in a different area that would require use of a golf cart frequently.
Staff accountability is important to us in your past positions have you supervised employees? If yes, how many employees?
Surgical facemasks are a requirement are you comfortable wearing a surgical face mask for the entire shift?
Do you have a ServSafe certificate or similar certificate that is recognized as a Certified Food Protection Professional?

A Level One fingerprint card in addition to the standard Food Handlers card are required.
