Laboratory Science Student Tech Asst Job at CompuNet Clinical Laboratories
The mission of CompuNet Clinical Laboratories is to provide quality diagnostic laboratory services to improve health outcomes within the communities we serve.
This position is for students currently enrolled in a Clinical/Medical Lab Science Program.
Day or Evening shift, depending upon availability
Summary
The Technical Assistant II will perform various tasks in assigned laboratory departments to assist technical/pathology staff accurately and efficiently generate test results. These tasks may include specimen handling and preparation, quality control, as well as testing and reporting.
CompuNet Clinical Laboratories, as a subsidiary of Premier Health, implemented the requirement that all employees as a condition of both initial and continued employment must receive vaccination against COVID-19, or complete policy compliance through an approved medical or religious exemption. These requirements must by met as a condition of hire. Failure to do so will result in a delayed start or withdrawal of employment offer.
Duties
1. Perform routine and advanced maintenance and set up of lab instrumentation.
2. Operate lab instrumentation independently including complex troubleshooting and scheduling field service calls as deemed necessary.
3. Understand all menu pathways of local computer systems as it pertains to the job functions including instructing technical staff on advanced computer functions.
4. Handling client related questions and concerns in a courteous and efficient manner.
5. Perform specimen handling, control and tracking functions, which may include the handling of potentially infectious/carcinogenic materials.
Qualifications
1. High School diploma or equivalent
2. Currently enrolled in a Clinical Lab Science/Medical Lab Science program
