Ventamatic has an immediate need for a Laboratory Technician to participate in a D.O.E. funded grant through August 2024 working on a team that includes members from Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, Florida Solar Energy Center and other Indoor Air Quality Experts. It is expected that the successful outcome of the project will result in new product introductions that reduce Energy consumption, improve indoor air quality and occupant health, improve product commissioning and alert consumers to potential unhealthy air conditions.
A Laboratory Testing Technician is responsible for testing products and components and working to develop solutions to solve technical problems in research and development. Conducts tests, collects data and assists engineers as needed.
Reports To: Engineering Manager
Job Duties:
- Prepare and conduct tests and experiments.
- Calculate or record results and data during testing or experiments.
- Create and maintain a log of tests and results and data.
- Assemble and disassemble prototypes
- Utilize computer-aided design programs to read technical drawings.
- Develop test methods to investigate performance of products.
- Identify technical solutions to a given problem.
- Assist engineers as they create, modify, and test products and processes.
- Perform research and development during creation phase of product.
- Cleaning and organizing.
- Other duties as needed.
Desired Skills/Qualifications: Curiosity, Problem solving, Creative thinking, Ability to use basic hand and power tools, Capable of presenting technical information, Basic Microsoft Office, High School graduate or GED, Occasionally lift up to 20 lbs., Be able to stand, bend over and walk for the length of the work day.
