Entry Level Landscape Designer - Laguna Beach Studio
SWA Laguna Beach is seeking talented, design-oriented candidates with zero to
three years of professional experience in landscape architecture, urban design or planning fields. Master Degree in
landscape architecture and another field are encouraged to apply. New
graduates are welcome to apply. In-person strongly preferred.
Working with us in this role, you may be responsible for:
- Design
- 3D modeling
- Rendering
- Producing presentation graphics and presentations
- Assisting in preparation of construction drawings/documents, sets
- Attending and participating in meetings
- Work with senior designers on a collaborative team
Requirements:
- A professional undergraduate or graduate degree from an accredited program in landscape architecture, planning, or urban design.
The ideal candidate has:
- 0-3 years professional experience in a design office
- Strong design skills
- Strong graphics and 3D modeling skills
- Strong problem solving, critical thinking skills, analysis
- Attention to detail and organization
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
- Effective time management skills
- Leadership qualities and ability to take initiative; self-motivation
- Ability to take direction
- Positive attitude
- Sense of accountability
- Experience from a previous internship
- Technical understanding or landscape architecture site development elements
- Basic knowledge of plant materials
- Proficiency in:
- AutoCAD 2018+
- Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop)
- Microsoft Office
- 3D modeling in Rhino &/or SketchUp
- Revit
- Additional experience with the following is desirable:
- Preparing construction drawings & documents
- Lumion
- Grasshopper
- ArcMap/ArcGIS
- Bluebeam REvu
- Hand sketching
