ABOUT THE ROLE

UA Brands is hiring a Risk Management, Asset Protection & Loss Prevention Leader responsible for developing and implementing policies and strategies for minimizing loss exposure for the Company’s production/manufacturing (foreign), distribution center, and 28 retail stores. This includes working across department lines to effectively identify opportunities for: operational improvement and training, safeguard assets, recommend and implement changes in internal controls, manage asset risks, and identify and investigate fraudulent activities.

Responsibilities will include direct supervision of a team including international team members. Our fast-changing work environment requires self-motivated individuals who are resourceful and able to data, improving existing systems, and introduce new tools.

WHAT YOU’LL DO
The following are the major areas of responsibility for the Risk Management & Asset Protection Leader:
Risk Management:
  • Develops and implements goals for enterprise-wide risk management that align with the strategic goals of the organization. Establishes and oversees implementation of infrastructure for coordinated risk management programs across the business entities globally.
  • Guides, supports, and develops staff in leading risk management and performance improvement initiatives across the organization, including education, root cause analyses/investigations, policy/procedure development, auditing procedures, procurement of appropriate insurance for business risk mitigation and regulatory compliance.
  • Assure compliance with PCI Standards, Trademark/intellectual property protection processes and Fraud Risk Policies.
Strategic:
  • Serves as the subject matter expert on a broad range of disciplines including asset protection, risk management, internal audit initiatives, and strategic risk planning.
  • Identify gaps in internal accounting controls and create analytical indicators of inefficiencies or possible loss situations and identify opportunities to minimize risks associated with business continuity.
Operations:
  • Oversight and collaboration with Global Business Units for delivery of timely, efficient, cost-effective manufacturing and distribution.
  • Identify and mitigate asset security risks in the manufacturing, distribution center and retail store locations.
  • Partner with all departments to create operational audits designed to identify process improvements and streamline operations.
Loss Prevention:
  • Investigate evidence of loss using multiple tools and resources and conduct interviews in a timely manner regarding integrity, theft, and violation of company policy. Provide recommendations for resolution and process improvement.
  • Develop processes and oversee regular audit programs for retail stores, distribution center, manufacturing facilities, and business offices to assess operational and safety compliance with company policies and procedures. Audit oversight to include inventory control (manage cycle counts of product inventories) and common carrier shipping audits (optimize the process for the organization and reduce costs). Advise and consult with operational leaders on improving results based on audits.
Finance:
  • Assists the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) as a budget manager for the Risk Management Department.
Human Capital:
  • Collaborate with Human Resources to plan and coordinate ways to prevent and reduce work-related accidents and injuries and manage claims.
Technology/Communication:
  • Leads the Technology and Business Information departments in changing or enhancing systems to improve tools used for managing risk in areas such as credit card processing, protection of intellectual property, and identification of potential internal theft or dishonesty.
Hazards/Business Continuity Planning:
  • Monitor risks related to disasters, manufacturing facilities and distribution facilities, equipment, business interruption, adverse events caused by 3rd parties, protection of loss or reduction of value of assets.
Legal/Regulatory:
  • Proactive oversight of consumer safety, financial risks, and efficient management of the organization’s intellectual property (trademark infringement/compliance).
  • Liaise with Business Managers to ensure new products are evaluated for consumer safety risks.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING
Education/Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field required (e.g., Accounting/Business/Information Security), Master’s degree in related field preferred.
  • 7+ years of senior leadership experience in corporate asset protection/risk management, preferably within retail/hospitality/manufacturing.
  • Deep understanding of and experience in risk management (including emerging risk), data analytics, and project management
  • Must be effective at working with people at different levels in a global organization and across different functions and business units. This includes having excellent verbal and written communication skills and an ability to explain complex topics in clear terms to different audiences.
  • Demonstrated experience effectively leading global/distributed teams.
  • Ability and availability for travel to manufacturing (foreign), distribution center, and retail store locations.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, solid Excel skills
  • Familiarity with POS/Inventory management software, warehouse/fulfillment software, sophisticated time-keeping or similar applications in retail or fulfillment.
  • Microsoft Dynamix AX- ERP system knowledge preferred.
  • Bilingual – English/Spanish preferred.
Licensure/Certifications:
  • Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) license
  • Advanced Wicklander Zulawski investigation certification
WHERE YOU’LL WORK
Work from Home/In the business
Have workplace flexibility - you’ll work primarily from the comfort of your home with no commute unless traveling to UA locations for audit/risk management-related projects and meetings. Must reside in the state or country where UA is set up as an employer. Ability to travel approximately 20% of the time, including outside the US, required. Company computer provided for business use.
