POSITION TITLE: Level I Designer, OSP

CLASSIFICATION: Non-Exempt

POSITION OVERVIEW:

ADB is seeking a Level I Designer, OSP to provide basic utility fiber route designs within the OSP Engineering team. This position will work closely with the engineering and construction team to provide quality basic level designs of aerial and underground fiber installs. The ideal candidate will be safety focused, customer and quality centric, with a strong work ethic and ALL IN attitude.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Uses GIS/3GIS to perform basic design aerial and underground fiber route maps and executes tasks such as route analysis
• Designate the design, sizing, and placement of mainlines, laterals, hubs, splices, splitter cabinets, and terminals
• Basic level of fiber allocation design for splicing matrix
• Coordinate field surveys of outside plant aerial and underground network facilities; develop running line, splice sheets, loss budgets and other design elements
• Coordinate with internal Engineering teams to determine component selection, routing, and network architecture guidelines to produce detailed designs
• Creates and Maintains documentation records of design deliverables
• Create Bill of Materials for project management
• Perform quality control reviews and self-checks on completed designs in terms of completeness, accuracy, and compliance with standards
• Performs other duties as requested by leadership

• Mid-level knowledge of construction drawings and documents

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

• This position operates within a temperature-controlled office environment
• This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as laptop computers, projectors, copy/fax, and smartphones

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:

• 1+ Year OSP Design experience in telecommunications required
• Bachelor’s Degree in engineering required if no formal experience
• High School Diploma or equivalent required
