Northwestern State University is looking for a library associate with excellent
analytical, organizational, problem solving, interpersonal, and communication skills
to assist in managing a branch campus library. This is a 12-month full time unclassified position.

Qualifications

Required:


  • Baccalaureate degree
  • Ability to work and communicate effectively with faculty, student, and staff
  • Typing proficiency and familiarity with Microsoft Office
  • Ability to push a loaded book cart, and lift and carry up to twenty pounds
  • Availability to work nights and weekends if needed.
Preferred:
  • Previous library experience, academic library preferred
  • Previous experience supervising and training student workers
  • Experience with library, databases, circulation, and record keeping

  • Managing the library in the absence of the head of the library

  • Assist with library instruction

  • Work with library faculty and staff on main campus to improve service

  • Perform other duties as assigned
