We are currently looking to recruit a highly successful, seasoned administrator with three years’ experience and a proven track record of accomplishment leading a Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) team. The ideal candidate will be selected for a five-star facility in Long Beach, CA. GENERAL PURPOSE

Responsible for directing the day-to-day functions of the facility, ensuring compliance in accordance with all local, state, and federal regulations and guidelines. Responsible for maintaining the facility in accordance with the California Department of Public Health policies and procedures, ensuring the highest degree of care is being provided to residents.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate, and direct the facility’s programs and activities.
  • Develop and maintain policies and procedures that govern the operation of the facility, ensuring that all policies and procedures are clearly defined and understood.
  • Assume the administrative authority, responsibility, and accountability of directing the activities, programs, and operations of the facility.
  • Effectively represent the facility, both internally and externally.
  • Prepare reports and recommendations concerning the operations of the facility.
  • Ensure that the facility is maintaining all policies and procedures through regular inspections and walkthroughs; urgently develop action plans to correct any deficiencies.
  • Maintain the positive image of the facility through positive public relations and community relations programs.
  • Serve on various committees of the facility as well as evaluating and implanting recommendations from the facility’s various committees.
  • Ensure that the facility is properly staffed.
  • Serve as liaison to governing board, medical staff, and other professional and supervisory staff.
  • Meet with department directors regularly and aide in programs to ensure the success of their departments.
  • Ensure all staff attends and participates in all annual OSHA and CDC in-service training programs for hazard communication, TB management, and bloodborne pathogens standard.
  • Ensure that the building and grounds are maintained.
  • Maintain established safety regulations and ensure that all staff, residents, and visitors are following the standard.
  • Review accident and/or incident reports and implement effective accident prevention programs.
  • Maintain the facility budget and ensure departmental directors have a clear understanding of their budgets.
  • Ensure that the residents rights to fair and equitable treatment, self-determination, individuality, privacy, property rights, and civil rights, are well establish and maintained at all times.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all resident information.
  • Direct employment related efforts for the department, including hiring, performance management, mentoring programs, professional development opportunities, scheduling, training, separations, etc.
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Public Health Administration, Business Administration or related field of study required.
  • Current unencumbered Federal and State Nursing Home Administrator license.
  • 1+ year of experience in a supervisory capacity in a hospital or long-term care facility.
  • Maintain a demonstratable knowledge of applicable local, state, and federal regulations that could impact the facility.
  • Ability to work well in both a team-based environment and an independent manner.
  • Must have the ability to read, write and follow oral and written directions at a level necessary to accomplish this job.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving skills and multi-tasking skills required.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor, train, lead and direct the work of others.
  • Must be capable of performing the essential job functions of this job, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Related administrative experience at a level necessary to accomplish the job.
  • Must meet all local health regulations and pass post-employment physical exam, if required. This requirement also includes drug screening, criminal background investigation, and reference inquiry.
