We are a not-for-profit continuing care retirement community comprised of 100-bed skilled nursing and rehabilitation center, a 76-bed Personal Care home and the security of a Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC) in the historic former Somerset Area High School.

OUR LICENSED PRACTICAL NURSE POSITION
The primary function of this position is to ensure the total delivery of nursing care and related services for all residents under their assigned area and in compliance with all federal, state and local guidelines, standards and regulations which govern the facility, and as directed by the Nursing Supervisor and/or Director of Nursing.

We currently have FULL-TIME, PART-TIME and CASUAL positions on the EVENING and NIGHT shifts.*

- Plans, organizes, directs and provides resident care and services according to physician orders and the interdisciplinary plan of care.
- Administers drugs and treatments in compliance with facility policy and procedures.
- Assists in the development and maintenance of resident assessments and interdisciplinary plans of care.
- Makes daily resident rounds, addressing and correcting any necessary operational issues as indicated, making verbal and/or written reports for the Director of Nursing.
- Maintains a safe work environment and exhibits safe work practices.
- Assists subordinate positions in rendering of care and services as necessary and/or directed.
- Completes various documentation and reports as directed.
- Monitors and supervises the work of Nursing Assistants so as to ensure the needs of each resident is met on a continuum.
- Assists in training/orienting and initiating disciplinary actions as warranted
- Actively participates in overall facility management and makes recommendations for quality improvement.
- Responsible for processing employee health directives regarding work-related injuries.
- Maintains confidentiality of information.
- Always exhibit a high-level of professionalism and teamwork.

EDUCATION & TRAINING*
Graduate from an accredited school of nursing and in possession of a valid LPN license issued by the Commonwealth of PA. Minimum of one (1) year experience in a long term care setting preferred. Current certification in CPR.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS*
Physical demands include the ability to walk extensively, sit for extended periods of time and bend, lift and carry up to fifty (50) pounds frequently. Must be able to operate lifting equipment regularly and push and pull carts and/or resident transportation devices. Full list of physical requirements available upon request.
