Service Security Technician

Job Description:

- Service Technician will be working on a team, performing ongoing service and maintenance to variety of commercial/government agencies. You will be asked to identify and solve problems onsite. You will be installing and troubleshooting CCTV cameras, low voltage cables (Cat 5E & Cat 6), and coordinating proper parts are ordered. Excellent communication skills and flexibility is required.

- We are looking for a Security Technician to join us on a full time basis. You will be responsible for installing and servicing all security systems related to access control, camera (security) and fencing systems. You will need to be well versed in low voltage cabling and have the ability to accurately terminate and test cable and install end devices.

- 8+ yrs combined experience in VMS, Access Control, & IP camera based configurations

- Any equipment installation is a plus – CCTV, Card Access, Wireless, etc…

- Pay will depend on amount of experience in security/communications industry.

o HS Diploma or higher (AA or higher degree in electronics or similar field of study a plus)

o Strong English communication skills (written and verbal)

o Candidates should possess all basic hand tools and be familiar with using test equipment.

o Basic understanding of IP systems preferred.

o Strong documentation/organization skills.

o Critical thinking and mathematical abilities (basic math and measuring).

o Experience installing, terminating, testing, troubleshooting and documenting test results for cabling (Cat 6 and FO).

o Basic knowledge of and ability to operate hand and power tools.

o Knowledge of blueprint reading a plus.

o Valid drivers license required, safe driving record (No DUI’s) and reliable transportation.

o Commitment to safety – OSHA Certifications OSHA 10 required; OSHA 30 a plus.

o Professional appearance and demeanor.

o Advanced computer and smartphone skills required.

o Genetec/Milestone/OnSSI/ Lenel/ Avigilon / Occularis Certification a plus!

o Fiber Optic experience a plus!

o Experience running a small to medium sized crew a plus!

o Willingness to travel a plus!

- Installing networking equipment, routers, switches, and programming features that follow industry standards.

Must be able to:

- Climb up and down ladders

- Lift and/or move up to 75 pounds of equipment, to include an extension ladder.

- Pull up to 75 pounds of cable.

- Work in all weather conditions.

- Bend, stand, sit, crawl, stoop, kneel, crouch walk, climb, lift, and work with hands and arms throughout the work day in all environments.

- Comfortable with heights. (work is often done on 20-30ft lifts or in a bucket truck)

- Familiar with a variety of network items, equipment, switches, etc.

- Have frequent and professional interactions with team members, customers and vendors. Strong customer service skills a plus!

- Complete and submit paperwork accurately and daily.

- Be able to pass a criminal background check and a drug test.

Our compensation package combines a competitive hourly wage, health insurance including medical, dental, and vision. Also included is PTO and numerous company holidays. We offer 401K opportunities as well. Work on prevailing wage projects also provides opportunities for increased earnings.
