LPN (Licensed Practical Nurse) Job at PLEASANT VIEW INC
Pleasant View Inc is currently accepting applicants for Full-Time LPNs for rotating shifts located in Harrisonburg, VA. The LPN will be working at our 15 bed Intermediate Care Facility. The LPN will work under the supervision of the Program Manager.
Basic Duties:
- Administers medications or starts intravenous fluids, noting times and amounts on patients’ charts.
- Observes patients, charting and reporting changes in conditions such as adverse reactions to medication or treatment and takes necessary actions.
- Provides basic patient care or treatments such as taking temperatures or blood pressures, dressing wounds, treating bedsores, giving enemas or douches, rubbing with alcohol, massaging, or performing catheterizations.
- Assembles and uses equipment such as catheters, tracheotomy tubes, or oxygen suppliers.
- All care, treatment and training will be designed to promote good physical and mental health and to maintain and/or enhance the consumer’s functioning in the community-based residential setting.

- Maintaining accurate and up to date medical information as assigned by the Supervisor and according to the policies of Pleasant View, Inc., DBHDS, and the consumer funding source (i.e. Medicaid Waiver, PAS).
- Maintain all forms needed for consumer records and services medical appointment record (filled out by trainer and physician), Medication Administration Records (MAR’s), incident sheets, physical form, PRN notes, IPP’s, and task analysis for programs.
- Maintain all forms needed for administration such as hourly service records (billing sheets), mileage logs, absentee reports and vacation forms according to policies.
- Keep communication open among staff members, Team Leader and Supervisor through staff logs.
- Update medical plans to accommodate changing needs of the consumer and submit changes to Supervisor and/or CSB Care Coordinator.
- Attend all in-services provided by the agency for staff development, and complete and maintain certification in all training requirements.
- The LPN would also be responsible for providing training to incoming medication management trained staff members.
- Working 11-7, conduct rounds every 30 minutes, following the overnight guidelines.
- On-call responsibilities which assist staff members who might need medical questions answered as well as provide emergency medical treatment as needed.
Other Duties/Responsibilities

- Participate in fundraising events for the agency.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the Supervisor, Director, or the Executive Director.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Postsecondary certificate from vocational school or Associate’s degree in nursing required.
- Current state licensure required
- Must have excellent computer skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Must have attention to detail and be organized.
- Must be able to maintain confidential information.
- Effective oral and written communication.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, multitask, work in a team setting as well as independently.
- Have a valid Driver’s License and an acceptable driving record.
- Ability to pass a criminal and social services background check
