Additionally, all educators consistently and effectively collaborate with colleagues on a wide range of tasks such as implementing standards-based units and well-structured lessons, examining student work, analyzing student performance, and planning appropriate interventions.Position Objective: This position is accountable for assuming the responsibility for delivering high quality instructional experience through creativity, resourcefulness and sound judgment consistent with the curriculum frameworks, standards and the rules and regulations of the Freetown-Lakeville Regional School District.Position Time Frame: Maternity Leave with anticipated start date February 2, 2023 with potential completion May 2023Responsibilities: PRIMARY LOVE of teaching and learning, believing every child can learn, be collaborative, bring joy and kindness to school each dayResponsible for remaining up to date regarding curriculum content.Responsible for effective planning and assessment of curriculum and instruction.Responsible for mentoring students understanding of the curriculum effectively and adjusting instruction, materials, or assessments, when appropriate.Responsible for effective management of the classroom environment; maintaining a safe and respectful classroom environment in order to optimize student capabilities and develop their love of learning.

Responsible for effective instruction, which includes making learning goals clear to the students, using appropriate instructional and questioning techniques.Responsible for using innovative approaches, and instructional strategies, including the effective use of technologies, to increase student learning and confidence to learn.Responsible for the promotion of high standards and expectations for student achievement.Responsible for the promotion of equity and appreciation of diversity to ensure equitable opportunities for student earning, including, for implementing specific strategies for students with special needs, with 504 plans and\or second language learnersResponsible for providing equal educational and employment opportunities to all individual regardless of race, color, gender, age, religion, gender identity, national origin, marital status, sexual orientation, disability, or homelessnessPerformance of other job-related duties as assignedSocial/Civic Expectations: Freetown-Lakeville students will: practice responsible citizenship; respect self and others; accept responsibility; and work cooperatively.Required Qualifications: Massachusetts DESE license in Early Childhood Education (PreK-2)SEI EndorsementBA DegreePreferred Qualifications: Teaching experience in the content areaDemonstrated experience supporting students with special needsExperience teaching students who are English language learnersCandidates who are licensed in another state will be considered if they qualify for the temporary license from DESE (must possess the equivalent license from another state and must have documented proof of working under that license for at least three complete school years). Candidates will need to apply for and pay for the DESE license as a condition of employment.Salary & Terms of Employment: In accordance with the Freetown-Lakeville Regional School District Educators Association contract. Employment is contingent upon job performance, program needs, and funding.
