JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Impulse, Inc. has an immediate opening for a Packager (Slitter) in Athens, AL. Our client is a trusted name in flat rolled steel processing. Our client provides custom manufactured oscillated slit coils and steel products. The Packager (Slitter) is responsible for ensuring material is on proper skid and packaged according to work order specifications.

1st Shift (7:15a-3:45p)

3rd Shift (10:45p-7:15a)

Responsibilities of a Packager (Slitter) includes:

• Run slitter machine at required production levels.
• Figure knife sheets.
• Lay out needed spacers and rubbers.
• Check appropriate knives for Knicks and sharpness.
• Build stand according to knife sheet.
• Remove old stand from line.
• Replace with new stand.
• Tear down old stand.
• Put up spacers and rubbers.
• Check clearances on cutter stands.
• Keep work area clean.

Job Requirements of a Packager:

• High school diploma or GED certificate (preferred).
• Mechanical aptitude.
• Experience using and reading calipers and other forms for measurements.
• Work with a sense of urgency.
• Detail orientated with the ability to multi-task.
• Drug screening and background checks are required.
