Position Summary:

• Summarize the overall mission, purpose, and scope of the position in approximately three sentences.
• Purpose of this position is to have more control of the quality of parts we are sending to our customer.
• This position will also assist in machine up-time & OEE improvements.
• Will assist in part set up for service orders and rework processes.
• Will be involved with tooling related problems to help find reasons behind the issues to help drive down cost.

Secondary Functions:

• Ability to interpret CMM reports and make adjustments on all equipment accordingly including fixturing, CNC, & dial equipment.
• Ability to identify design flaws in fixturing of new equipment in design phase with tool builders.
• Basic CAD/CAM skills.
• Ability to make all set-ups including tool offsets and work piece coordinate offsets on new and existing equipment.
• Ability to fully write CNC programs.
• Ability to choose tooling for new set-ups.
• Capability of understanding statistical data and making adjustments.
• Fully understands GD & T on blueprints.
• Ability to fabricate parts on manual equipment including Vertical mill, lathe, and surface grinder. Also has some welding capabilities.
• Ability to perform machine inspections without assistance including axis backlash, spindle TIR, perpendicularity, parallelism, and CNC program downloads.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision, willingness to learn new skills, and contributing to team project efforts.

Qualifications/Requirements:

Knowledge/Education/Certifications: * Minimum* level of formal education that is required to perform this position satisfactorily.

• High School plus specialized course work

Describe type of knowledge or certifications required:

• Hands on mechanical knowledge.
• CNC programming and set up experience.
• Manual machining and set up experience a plus.
• Microsoft Office.

Experience: Minimum length of time typically required to perform the duties satisfactorily.

• 2 years

Equipment/Tools Used: Tools and equipment listed are some of the specialized tools and equipment; other equipment may be used as needed.

• Basic hand tools, calipers, micrometers, edge finders, dial, test, and co-axial indicators
• Forklift
• Crane
