Olin Epoxy, and Olin Chlor Alkali Products & Vinyls, divisions of Olin Corporation, is seeking a Maintenance Engineer, located in Freeport, TX. Additional locations include Oyster Creek, TX. The Maintenance Engineer is a technical resource on the Operations Team who optimizes daily operations and process performance to run a low cost, on specification, reliable, productive operation, thereby maximizing value to the business in a safe and environmentally sound manner. This role resolves plant issues, drives improvements, and shares knowledge to strengthen the performance of the team. The Engineer will work closely with other individuals and teams to establish and achieve annual spending plans, production commitments to the business, and cost goals.

Essential Job Functions:
Serves as Subject Matter expert in equipment failures and repair techniques during root cause investigations, as well as providing expertise on troubleshooting failures and repairs
Provides leadership and direction in the day-to-day decision making for the operating area of responsibility while networking with other engineers on site and within the business to leverage knowledge on plant operations.
For equipment that is critical for the process ensures that work requests include engineering input on repair details such as clearances, tolerances, materials of construction, welding procedures, etc. and if necessary provide onsite/offsite technical support for deviations from this data.
Ensures Operating Discipline / Olin Management System requirements are met and initiates changes to Plant Operating procedures to ensure they are valid and up to date. Will work with Technical Advisors and Operators in this respect.
Ensures regulatory and responsible care compliance via operating discipline while meeting the increasing demand for chlorine railcar shipping. Understands and applies skills and knowledge to support small projects, as required. Provides technical support to projects.
Shares on-call responsibilities with other plant personal. Helps coordinate area of responsibility during planned shutdown and maintenance activities.
Helps develop job scopes, plans, and technical execution support during turnarounds, start-ups, and shutdowns.
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree* in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering
1+ years of project / manufacturing experience; chlorine manufacturing experience preferred
Work experience with managing vendor proposals and quotations, contractor bids and development of desired solutions for projects preferred
Demonstrated ability to problem solve and work in a team environment. Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills – verbal and written.
Knowledge of OSHA 1910.119 PSM standard preferred
Demonstrated use of Microsoft Office systems; SAP experience preferred.
Prior Olin experience preferred
