WHAT YOU’LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR IN THIS ROLE

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for general maintenance duties at the site for all Building and Ground Maintenance. This role is designed to maintain the building and grounds of the distribution center with continuous efforts for improvement.

  • Maintain all facility grounds including but not limited to landscaping maintenance and shoveling snow as required
  • Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on equipment, racking, and building
  • Record and maintain all record logs relating to building compliance, repairs, janitorial supplies (SDS) etc.
  • Analyze mechanical and operational problems on assigned equipment and plans for corrective action. Make necessary corrections and running adjustments to maintain maximum production and quality
  • Test equipment to check for proper operation of machinery/tools, MHE
  • Examine, test, and measure product from assigned equipment for quality specifications, using gauges and instruments, and records data on appropriate forms
  • Make preventive maintenance check and inspection of assigned equipment, reports findings to supervisor, and takes appropriate action
  • Notify maintenance department or supervisor of recurring equipment malfunctions and corrective action taken, and of quality problems or supplies needed
  • Instructs and directs any maintenance trainees assign


WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Ability to use hand tools and trades type tools.
  • Some knowledge of minor electrical (outlets/switches /L.E.D. fixtures)
  • Mechanical ability to trouble shoot
  • Minor plumbing (clearing clogged sanitation lines /toilets, replacement of faucets, sink repair)
  • Ability to maintain sanitation stations and other area deemed necessary
  • Door lock audits and some silliker audit items
  • Inspections of fire extinguishers/ladders
  • Painting
  • Scrubber use
  • Scissor lift (cannot be afraid of heights)
  • C-Level cart repair/replacement
  • Clean cage area, over pick tunnel, and forklifts
  • Water/EQ batteries
  • PERSIS record recording
  • Ability to be proactive with minimal supervision
  • Effectively communicate with team, office coordinator on job repairs/project
  • Be detailed and organized in all assignments
  • Work with our vendors as needed


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience.
  • Satisfactory work record, as determined by department manager.
  • High mental and visual effort required.
  • Willingness to work rotating shifts and overtime


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience in a food production environment.
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Welding experience
  • Experience with a dedicated safety program including L.O.T.O


PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Exposure to cold temperature (34 degrees to sub-zero temperatures)
  • Must be able to lift up to 50-55 pounds consistently.
  • Must be able to bend, crawl, kneel, and climb
  • Must be available for after hour emergencies
