OVERVIEW
The Manager, Broadcasting position will fill a significant strategic and supporting role as a liaison between US and Canadian television and radio rightsholders, NHL Clubs and all internal NHL departments. This position will be responsible for supporting the management of the day-to-day operational landscape of national and regional rightsholder relationships, as well as making recommendations and suggestions to strengthen those connections. Responsibilities include building, maintaining and managing strong relationships with all parties related to television and radio production and operations, content sharing and the integration of new broadcast technology, while ensuring that the integrated NHL departmental business objectives are not only met, but exceeded. This position will work cohesively with others within the department to ensure that all NHL Broadcast policies and procedures are maintained and executed per League guidelines and standards.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Serve as a key department representative and liaison between the thirty-two NHL Clubs and all television and radio rightsholders.
- Manage the production operations of rightsholders during the regular season, playoffs and at all League tent pole events.
- Manage the day-to-day relationships with US and Canadian national broadcast production contacts at ESPN, Turner Sports, Sportsnet, TVA Sports, Sports USA and SiriusXM.
- Serve as the lone on-site department representative at NHL games while providing production coordination and support.
- Make independent decisions to resolve conflicts during critical, time sensitive situations amongst multiple parties. Provide detailed communication updates for senior management.
- Management of rightsholder player access requests with additional support and coordination at League events.
- Communicate and advocate with and for all Rightsholders to ensure they are following and are in compliance with appropriate broadcast guidelines and procedures.
- Manage the daily distribution of NHL content to all rightsholders, including topical footage, player and game highlights and NHL-produced features. Provide rightsholders with information and assets that highlight NHL initiatives throughout the year.
- Provide quality control support and editorial intervention for NHL broadcasts.
- Assist with the creation and distribution of arena and stadium broadcast camera maps throughout the regular season and playoffs.
- Manage and coordinate rightsholder logistical needs throughout the season: credentialing, outfitting, NHL.TV access.
- Create weekly programming schedule grids and department assignment schedules.
- Create and maintain a portfolio of broadcast talent and best practices.
- Research, update and publish the annual NHL Broadcast Factbook.
- Other miscellaneous / departmental related duties, as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- College Degree
- 4+ Years of Television/Radio Production and/or Event Management experience
- Foreign language skills a plus, but not necessary
- Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and Audition a plus, but not necessary
- Television and/or radio production and operations experience
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint skills
- Ability to carry out detailed instructions and multi-task
- Highly motivated, detail oriented self-starter
- Strong knowledge of sports television production and operations
- Strong hockey knowledge a plus
- Highly organized with strong administrative skill set
- Candidate must be willing to travel and work nights and weekends, as needed
Salary Range for this role is $70K to $80K
