Responsibilities:

THE ROLE:

The Manager, Globalization & Localization will lead localization strategy, operations, and technologies, with a primary focus on corporate, technical, sales and partner effectiveness. You will apply your domain knowledge and experience in content internationalization, localization lifecycle management, translation management system, machine translation and international expansion to engage audiences across languages and cultures. You will lead resources to localize and customize market-appropriate content that resonates with the target audience, working with product marketing, project management, and the broader digital team. You will build business cases using data, drive change management and obtain buy-in from senior leaders and global stakeholders. You will validate localization requests and influence localized content through in-depth analysis of data, market insights, and regional feedback.

The ideal candidate will be a driven and inspiring senior leader who has a successful history of developing and leading a global team, including agencies and linguists’ network, and is comfortable being an agent of change. Your senior level of experience builds trust with key stakeholders, and you approach each conversation grounded in business impact and what it takes to make it happen. We are looking for a leader who is not afraid to ask tough questions or push for the best solutions. You innovate down to the details and drive what matters, ensuring that others similarly focus on what is critical. You are the champion of change and can rally others behind your vision, with excellent presentation and oral/written communication skills. You are purposeful and able to create executive dashboards and convincing business plans/proposals with financial benefits or implications. The ideal candidate can continue to make progress on items which are undefined.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead localization strategy, lifecycle management, operations, and technology infrastructure initiatives and teams.
  • Lead, inspire, develop, and train a globally distributed team. Manage the localization agencies and linguists’ network to ensure continuous improvement of quality and productivity.
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with culturally and geographically diverse stakeholders.
  • Define and execute on end-to-end localization programs from planning, budgeting to delivery and QA.
  • Allocate resources and budget to efficiently maximize business outcomes and contribute to the strategic objectives along the customer journey.
  • Work with executive leadership on reporting, presenting, and demonstrating content utilization/effectiveness.
  • Build new, and optimize existing, localization solutions, and train stakeholders on best practices.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Progressive experience leading globalization / localization at technology companies with B2B & B2C audiences.
  • Leadership experience managing and developing a team, with an emphasis on communication effectiveness.
  • Experience collaborating across multiple departments and teams, building partnerships, and influencing change.
  • Deep domain expertise in localization lifecycle, tools, TMS. Technical understanding of common DevOps platforms, CMS, and marketing automation.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn and leverage innovative technologies.
  • Native-level fluency in a foreign language. Professional fluency in English.
  • Comfortable analyzing data to measure results and inform decision making and strategy development.
  • Understanding of on-time delivery, quality scores, localization costs per volume, non-English % uplift.

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

Degree in localization, business, marketing, or equivalent experience. Master’s degree preferred.
