Job Summary
Leads Decatur, GA team responsible for photometric testing of all Acuity products. Oversees day-to-day operations of the photometric team including scheduling and review of testing. Performs tests as needed to ensure completion of testing in time to meet product group time lines. Interacts with the optical engineering team and product engineering teams to identify testing needs and ensure all required photometric testing is complete. Work with post sales and applications engineering to resolve issues with light levels in the field. Identify equipment needs for existing and new tests as well as maintain current equipment including calibration. Maintain laboratory accreditation with NVLAP and update capabilities and accreditations when business needs or standards change. Ensure that the photometric laboratory is in compliance with the Laboratory Quality Manual. Represent Acuity on IES TPC to maintain and develop new test methods.

Experience (minimum experience required)
- 5+ years of engineering work experience in lighting, or a related field with management experience required.
- Understanding of the science of light and photometry required.
- A firm knowledge and experience with IES test methods.
- Ability to interpret and apply new test methods as needed.
- Experience with test equipment including integrating spheres, goniometers, power analyzers, power supplies (AC and DC), and other types of equipment used for photometric testing.
- Strong leadership skills with ability to communicate with technicians and engineers.
- Knowledge and experience with ISO 17025.
- Knowledgeable with SharePoint software, Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, Microsoft Office, and other Windows applications.
- Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics
Preferred Experience (i.e. industry experience)
- Experience working on industry committees developing test procedures for photometric testing.
- NCQLP LC Certified preferred.
- Excel expertise.
