Manager of People Operations
Summit Public Schools is seeking a Manager of People Operations who will play an important role in supporting the advancement of the Summit Public Schools' mission and vision as we enter the twentieth anniversary year of our organization. The People Operations Manager reports to the Director of People Operations and supports a variety of areas including payroll, compliance, and people analytics.
This is an ideal position for an individual aiming to apply their people operations, project management, teamwork, and analytical skills to their passion for serving youth and education. What You'll Do:
People Operations
- Serve as systems administrator for a number of people systems at Summit, including Vector, Trinet, and Helios.
- Facilitate new hire onboarding procedures in conjunction with HR Manager.
- Manage the People Operations and Payroll relationship, collaborating cross-functionally to ensure proper execution of monthly payroll and timely audit support when necessary.
- Lead in a variety of people analytics projects, including creating and maintaining employee data dashboards on metrics such as retention.
- Create and maintain tools for use of the People Operations team.
Compliance Management
- Support in compliance monitoring for all things people. Including mandatory trainings, employee credentials, and employee background clearances.
- Serve as the Custodian of Record for Summit Employee Records.
- Partner with the Manager of HR & Credentialing in annual audits for California and/or Washington; maintain the Credentialing Database and prepare reports for school leaders as well as local and state officials.
- Understand and interpret California Education Code/Title V, and Washington Advise Code/Revise Code of Washington RCW and be able to provide knowledge and training to team members.
- Hold a caseload of Summit Public Schools credentialing databases and partner with teachers to ensure their credentials are up-to-date.
- Confirm the credentialing capability and compliance of new applicants to Summit Public Schools.
- Collaborate with Recruitment & Selection Team and the Manager of HR & Credentialing to review applicant' credentials.
Employee Relations:
- Assists with plans, developments, and implementation of Summit's compensation process, policies and procedures.
- Serve as initial contact for salary and compensation related question.
- Assist with additional people operations tasks as needed.

- Bachelor's Degree preferred.
- 1-3 years prior experience in human resources, people operations, and/or employee administration work preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal, writing, communication and presentation skills are required.
- Exceptional project coordination and organizational skills are required.
- Proficiency in Google Platforms, including Google Drive, Google Sheets, Google Docs, and Google Slides.
- Clear health and background check.

Our compensation policy strives to be equitable and transparent. The salary for this position starts at $74,181 and goes up to $97,618, commensurate with experience and qualifications and assuming you will be based in the San Francisco Bay Area.
