Senior Manager, Internal & External Engagement and Communications

Role Summary:


Cipla USA has added a newly created Center of Excellence role – Senior Manager, Internal & External Engagement and Communications. This position will foster and grow engagement for the Cipla North America Generics Business. Ideal candidates are communications experts with significant experience managing digital communities, planning events, and supporting multichannel communications strategies.


This role will be based out of Cipla's US Headquarters in Warren, NJ, and will report directly to the Associate Director, Human Resources.

At the end of your first year with Cipla, you have developed communications, websites, events, and engagement forums, which lead to a common understanding by employees of business objectives, priorities, and corporate values. Your work leads to even higher engagement scores, productivity, and retention of key talent.


You have fostered Cipla's culture by developing and leading the engagement committee, which has led others to lead, producing the FY 23 Annual Achievers' Awards. These awards celebrate one of the fastest-growing generic organizations in the US and the skilled people propelling the business forward.


You have directly developed and maintained a robust US website in collaboration with the Commercial Team. In the employment market, candidates now know that Cipla USA is an Employer of Choice through the extensive marketing campaigns you have launched. Cipla is no longer the best-kept secret in US generic pharma. You are also a trusted partner to the US CEO and Human Resources Team. You have acted as a bridge leading to Cipla’s success and growth story.


Responsibilities:


Employee Events & Engagement


    • Responsible for engagement survey and focus group execution, analysis, and spearheading action planning with HRBPs and BU/Department Heads.
    • Cultivate Employee Engagement Committee including site and department SPOCs (spell this acronym out.
    • Lead, develop and execute action-oriented plans for onsite and virtual employee events and activities.
    • Support the development and management of Employee Resource Groups (ERGs)
    • Responsible for overall design and execution of the Annual Achievers Awards Program.
    • Plan, create content and execute the Quarterly Town Hall meetings and other internal communication and engagement forums.
    • Lead Community Service programs and initiatives.

Internal & External Communications


    • Act as the liaison for North America with Corporate Communications for any projects or initiatives.
    • Develop and manage the annual communications plans for North America.
    • Promote the Cipla brand internally and externally through interventions.
    • Remain informed of Cipla’s internal and external events and recommend and develop the appropriate communications.
    • Drive the end-to-end implementation of comprehensive communication campaigns and collaborative projects aligned with our mission of, ‘Caring for Life’, strategic objectives, values, and ROCK IT awards and engagement platform.
    • Provide internal communications consultation and support for annual campaigns & promotions.
    • Serve as the primary liaison with the Global Engagement Team for any projects or initiatives, including Cipla’s weekly podcast.
    • Draft, format, and edit content including, but not limited to, broadcast emails to staff, videos, newsletters, success stories, organizational announcements, and memos.
    • Assist with the development and maintenance of employee communication forums including the intranet and blackboard alert communications.
    • Provide recommendations on additional communication channels for organizational needs and development.
    • Support the development and maintenance of the external North America website, career site and social media campaigns.
    • In collaboration with Marketing Department, help enhance the product catalog on the external North America website.
    • Support key customer communications.
    • Track and analyze digital communications performance, complete competitor benchmarking, and social platform monitoring. Keep abreast of general industry trends and provide recommendations to augment North America generics communications strategy.

Capability Building


    • Develop and maintain internal and external communications and design resource relations, including but not limited to, Cipla’s internal art department, and external vendors for graphics, videos, and event companies.
    • Act as the primary US contact for the Cipla Global Brand Store.
    • Support community outreach, communications, research, and policy development for the Inclusion & Diversity.
    • Develop metrics to track and evaluate programs, communications, and initiatives.

Requirements & Preferred Skills, Competencies, and Experience:


  • A Bachelor’s degree is required, preferably in Communications, Public Relations, English or a related area.
  • At least five years of experience in engagement, communications, public relations, corporate communications, social media, or related roles in a corporate setting.
  • Pharmaceutical or biotech experience a plus.
  • Experience working closely with internal stakeholders to identify and develop communications and engagement strategies for key initiatives.
  • Strong written and verbal communication, including a strong command of the English Language. Fluency in Spanish is a plus.
  • A self-starter who works independently with limited day-to-day guidance is preferred.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint. Intermediate proficiency in Excel.
  • Comfort interacting, communicating, and influencing at all levels within the organization, including Senior Leadership.
  • Demonstrated ability to be forward thinking, diligent and creative leading to effective execution of tasks.
  • High attention to detail and superior editing skills.
  • Ability to collaborate across diverse teams and in a multi-cultural setting.
  • Ability to lead as an individual contributor.
  • Familiarity with social media platforms, including LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and other mediums.
  • Knowledge of the compliance and regulatory environment for pharmaceutical manufacturers preferred.
  • Basic photography, videography skills, graphic design skills are a plus.
