Marine Terminal Safety Supervisor Job at Holt Logistics
A fast-growing Philadelphia area stevedore and marine terminal operator is seeking a highly motivated individual for the position of Safety Supervisor in a dynamic, drug-free, work place.
Successful candidates must be available to work a variable daytime schedule, but also be available to work occasional nights, weekends and holidays to monitor the work practices and Safety compliance of unionized labor.
Candidate will be responsible for managing the safety and loss control program during the loading and unloading of cargo vessels, warehouse deliveries and Terminal operations.
Candidate will directly partner with other internal departments and Labor as well as coordinate with external Agencies and Responders.
A Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety and Health, or equivalent job experience, is preferred.

- Self-motivated with proven time management and organizational skills.
- Attention to detail while still able to evaluate broader causes and effects.
- Excellent knowledge of occupational safety equipment and procedures such as PPE, atmospheric monitoring, and hot work.
- Strong correspondence and computer skills (Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.) with the ability to learn additional function-specific software.
- The ability to perform safety inspections aboard cargo vessels, up into gantry cranes, and throughout Terminal facilities in all weather conditions. This will also include the ability to work in cramped spaces, at heights, multiple types of walking/working surfaces, and within cargo holds.
- Working knowledge of state and federal regulations, or demonstrate the ability to learn these regulations.
- Able to perform accident investigations, produce detailed incident reports, and track corrective actions.
- Participate in, and monitor, a strict drug and alcohol program.
