Position Summary:

The Marketing Manager, under the general direction of the Director, Marketing, will directly plan, develop, and manage integrated marketing campaigns that drive growth of demand and qualified prospective student leads for the Alliant International University system, working with external and internal partners to successfully execute and report on the performance of marketing programs. A successful Marketing Manager will have the ability to manage multiple marketing campaigns and take responsibility for the buyer journey from awareness, engagement, and conversion, to lead nurturing strategies to get maximum ROI from marketing investments. The Marketing Manager is responsible for maintaining excellent relationships with the leadership of their assigned programs and schools, staying informed about program changes, university and school goals, and competitive environments to ensure successful marketing campaigns.

The Marketing Manager works with the Director, Marketing to ensure that programs are aligned to overall strategy, budget, and goals, contributing to analytics and reporting required to demonstrate performance of marketing campaigns. The Manager will also be responsible for managing the details and the resources needed to execute effective marketing programs, including outside vendors, such as advertising, digital and PR agencies, printers, graphic designers, copywriters, email specialists, or any other internal or external resources to ensure the successful and accurate execution of marketing strategies.


Starting Salary: $85,000


Minimum Qualifications
:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in marketing, advertising, communications, business, or a related field from an accredited college or university is required.

Experience: The Marketing Manager role requires at least five (5) years of experience in marketing, advertising, and promotion, with higher education experience preferred. This role requires at least three (3) years’ experience managing digital marketing strategies (specifically paid search, SEO and paid social media), and two (2) years developing and managing lead generation campaigns and lead nurturing strategies and demonstrated experience analyzing and reporting marketing data

Skills:

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, marketing project management processes and tools (e.g., CoSchedule), Adobe Acrobat, marketing automation (Marketo preferred), SalesForce or similar customer relations management systems, and experience with integrated business software systems in higher education.
  • Experience working with creative resources to develop marketing campaign and promotional materials, including developing creative briefs, and partnering with designers, copywriters, and other creative resources.
  • Experience developing email campaigns, including staying informed about best practices, performance reporting,
  • Strong vendor management, project management, and time management skills.
  • Possesses excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail and a focus on continuous optimization and improvement.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Responsible for increasing overall awareness, consideration, and lead conversion, with focus on increasing lead quality through execution of marketing strategies and tactics across digital and traditional channels for assigned schools and programs.
  • Defines needs and develops marketing plans to support the business goals of assigned schools and programs in collaboration with university stakeholders, including academic and admissions, business development, and leadership.
  • Manages all the details of marketing plans and their execution to ensure in-market delivery of assigned projects that meet budget, time, and business goals
  • Demonstrates thorough program knowledge of assigned schools and programs
  • Identifies differentiators, key messaging, and positions each program to grow volume and market share and to support overall brand positioning.
  • Develops clear timelines for strategy and /or project implementation. Monitors progress and consistently communicates status to all stakeholders.
  • Partners with internal and external creative resources to develop marketing assets, including video, photography, advertising, and promotional pieces in support of enrollment goals.
  • Develops and executes conversion-focused email and other contact strategy initiatives to engage and convert new student prospects.
  • Oversees and manages the marketing department’s role in executing event and outreach marketing strategies and tactics in support of assigned schools and programs.
  • Monitors and reports quality control issues for all deliverables and public-facing materials in support of marketing for the assigned schools and programs, including web pages, landing pages, and other digital and traditional assets.
  • Provides regular reporting of performance metrics, budget tracking, and ongoing optimization plans to meet goals.
  • Individually, or in partnership with the university’s advertising agency, works to continuously optimize performance of digital and traditional media efforts for assigned schools and programs.
  • Ensures that all marketing content and deliverables are professionally written and error-free.
  • Ensures internal control oversight and compliance with laws and regulations, safeguarding of assets, compliance with university policies and procedures, reliability of internal and external reporting, and efficiency and effectiveness of operations. Creates an effective control environment, conducts risk assessment, implements, and monitors controls.
  • Performs other related tasks, duties, and responsibilities as required, assigned, or directed.

Contact Responsibility:

Internal: Interacts with supervisor to receive general direction and instructions and/or review of work results. This position will work closely with colleagues in multiple departments (i.e., Academics, Admissions, Partnership Development, etc.) to define and implement joint awareness and lead generation. The Marketing Manager’s keeps all stakeholders informed of progress and results.

External: Interacts with outside vendors, such as advertising, digital and PR agencies, printers, graphic designers, and copywriters to ensure the successful and accurate execution of promotional strategies.
