You will work closely with the entire team to ensure every patient leaves The Remedy Room feeling better and with more knowledge about their health and wellness than when they arrived. You are expected to go above and beyond to peel back the layers of “dis-ease” in order to assist in identifying and treating the root cause of the illness to ensure long lasting success and health for your patients.

Dr. Mignonne C. Mary opened The Remedy Room in 2013, continuing the legacy of her father, Dr. Charles C. Mary, Jr. who is a pioneer in the field of IV Vitamin Therapy. The Remedy Room has become a national leader in innovative wellness, offering much more just a quick hangover fix. With a focus on disease prevention, nutritional medicine and of course, IV Therapy, the clinic has grown both in size and in scope and plans to continue to educate, empower and heal as many patients as possible.

Responsibilities:

We are pleased to announce that we are looking for a Medical Assistant to join our team. As a Medical Assistant at The Remedy Room, you are responsible for assisting the clinical team of nurses and providers at The Remedy Room as well as ensuring all patients feel welcomed and taken care of from the moment they walk in the door to the time they leave. This position reports to the Director of Clinical Services.

  • Assist clinical team of nurses and providers as need (preparing room for patient, assisting during procedures, cleaning room after a patient, etc.)
  • Prepare clinic for the day (music, essential oils, put together IV starter kits, clear all voicemails, review all appointments for the day and huddle with the team)
  • Answer phones (accomplish patient request or delegate to appropriate staff member)
  • Be able to clearly communicate Remedy Room offerings, prices, etc.
  • Triage, onboard, take vital signs, weigh patients in, etc. for appointments (notify nurse of abnormal vitals)
  • Ensure patient charts, including demographics, medications, allergies and consents are all up to date.
  • Monitor IV floor and ensure patients are comfortable throughout their duration at The Remedy Room (check on patients throughout IV to ensure comfort level, offer blankets, tea, water)
  • Remove IVs according to The Remedy Room protocols
  • Administer injections according to The Remedy Room protocols
  • Check patients out when they are done with their services.
  • Educate patients about, and set up appointments for all services offered at The Remedy Room, including but not limited to: Wellness visits, IV’s, Injections, Cancer Intake, NAD intake, Optimal Wellness Programs, O/P Shots, H&W Visits, etc.
  • Complete all appropriate charting using the EMR charting systems used at The Remedy Room.
  • Must be able to use all appropriate apps and software services utilized by The Remedy Room. Prior experience with specific software programs NOT required but ability to learn new technology IS REQUIRED.
  • Communicate efficiently and professionally to the entire team and to patients.
  • Additional responsibilities will apply.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Degree or Equivalent required
  • Background in Customer Service and Operations
  • Medical Assistant License/Certification
  • Minimum 2 year’s experience working as a Medical Assistant with direct patient care required.
  • Experience working at least one of the following areas preferred:
  • Integrative medicine or nutrition clinic
  • Service Management
  • Hospital Administration

Conditions:

  • Part time and Full Time positions available.
  • Typical hours 8:30am- 5pm. No night shifts.
  • Weekends required.**You must be able to work at least 2 weekends per month.
  • Assisting on house calls may be required on occasion.
  • Must be willing to commute between Northshore, New Orleans, and Metairie.
