Position Purpose

Upholds the Credit Union’s mission of “Doing the Right Thing” by coordinating, scheduling, setting up, and overseeing the online and classroom member education program throughout the community. Assists AVP-Learning & Development with special projects, research, support, and technology needs as related to Member Education.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Works with the AVP-Learning & Development coordinating various elements of member education including preparing materials, scheduling events, reviewing registrations, contacting presenters, setting up event spaces, and following up with attendees in relation to Member Education events.
  • Reviews and updates event offerings both in-person and virtually. Works with the Marketing area to ensure that details are correct in marketing materials on the Credit Union website, websites of community partners, social media, blogs, and videos.
  • Assists employees with questions related to Member Education events and offerings.
  • Assists the AVP-Learning & Development in creating reports measuring attendance, Member Education offerings, and other metrics associated with the program.
  • Supports the presenters with needs as they are presenting.
  • Coordinates logistics and set up for Member Education events.
  • Manages schedules and reports expenses associated with events to AVP-Learning & Development.
  • Acts as a point of contact for presenters and community partners in relation to questions on event offerings and scheduling needs. Provides excellent communication in a timely manner.
  • May work with Organizational Culture on scheduling needs for educational programs within area schools.
  • Promote and demonstrate the Credit Union brand in communications with others outside the Credit Union.
  • Inputs data and compiles a variety of special and recurring reports, questionnaires, and surveys.
  • Assists with other Member Education projects and miscellaneous duties as directed by the AVP-Learning & Development.
  • Schedule may vary depending on event needs. Weekends or evenings may be required to support events.

Necessary Experience and Qualifications

  • Financial institution and/or event coordination experienceis preferred, but not required.
  • Ability to read, write, and comprehend specific and sometimes technical instructions, short and detailed correspondence, and memos; the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals as normally acquired through completion of a high school education.
  • Must be technically proficient with strong analytical skills to create materials in a variety of programs including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Must be comfortable using presentation technology such as overhead projectors, audio systems, virtual presentation software.
  • Requires a comprehensive knowledge of the correct grammar used for business documents.
  • Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail for over 80 percent of the work time. Must be able to closely examine documentation and requires a high level of accuracy.
  • Experience in scheduling multiple events with different presenters and requests.
  • Strong initiative; has the ability to accomplish goals with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to shift from one task to another to accommodate needs of the program.
  • Positive attitude; demonstrate responsibility, dependability, and professionalism. Support overall business objectives.
  • Requires strong communication and listening skills necessary to perform tasks in an efficient and effective manner.
  • Strong time management skills and the ability to help coordinate and prioritize multiple job duties.
  • Ability to work in a varied environment, ranging from staying in one place or working in a confined area for extended periods and to transport objects weighing between five and twenty pounds.
  • Travel to various locations as needed. A valid driver’s license is required for this position.
