Gateways Hospital and Mental Health Center located in Los Angeles, is a non-profit organization that provides an array of comprehensive mental health services for Children, Adolescents, Transitional Aged Youth, and Adults suffering from mental illness in the Greater Los Angeles area. The organization consists of a standalone fifty five (55) bed hospital and six outlying outpatient facilities that have anywhere from fourteen (14) beds to one hundred and thirty four (134) beds. The organization has approximately four hundred (400) employees.
We are hiring a highly motivated and compassionate Mental Health Social Worker to join our team! The qualified candidate for the The Wellness/Homeless Program MHSW must have an MSW or Master’s degree in behavioral health sciences/psychology from an accredited university. Responsibilities include providing assessment, psychotherapy and group therapy to adult’s ages 18+ in individual and group settings. Other responsibilities include advocacy, case management, and discharge planning. Services are provided in the Wellness Center and PATH site and may include community activities.
Minimum Experience Required

• Successful experience or psychiatric internship providing individual, family and group therapy.
• Employment or internship experience in crisis intervention
• Experience in treatment planning

Minimum Education Required

• Masters Degree from an accredited school of social work, or Degree in Behavioral Sciences from an accredited university.

Essential Skills

• Ability to communicate effectively in English both verbally and in writing
• Proven ability to work with adolescents, adults and families.
• Functional knowledge of individual, group, and family psychotherapy.
• Ability to function effectively and efficiently as a member of the multi-disciplinary treatment team.

Physical Strength

• Light work: able to lift a maximum of 20 pounds
