Mobile Mammography Coordinator (Georgetown, TX) Job at Lone Star Circle of Care
Overview:
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND LICENSE:
As a member of Lone Star Circle of Care’s (LSCC)’s Mobile Mammography Team, facilitate the scheduling of patients for breast cancer screening and collection of information for follow-up and reporting. Collaborate with community partners to identify women in need of breast cancer screening mammograms, verify patient demographics and insurance coverage for all appointments, assure screening information and images are properly transmitted for review, and schedule patients with follow-up appointments. Perform general administrative duties to support the Team.
Responsibilities:
- Schedule patients for breast cancer screening based on the availability of LSCC’s mobile mammography unit at sites across Central Texas. Assess patient barriers to care in accessing mobile services.
- Obtain patient demographic information and collect insurance, income and identification to determine eligibility for no-cost or sliding fee scale breast health services in conjunction with LSCC’s Patient Services staff.
- Communicate with patients regarding upcoming appointments and preparation for accessing mobile services and schedule follow-up appointments.
- Complete non-technical imaging services such as requesting images from providers, submitting images for review by partnering radiology facilities, and recording reports of results in the electronic health record.
- Assist in developing the schedule for the mobile unit based on referrals by LSCC providers, partner referral organizations and community requests for screening events.
- Participate in activities associated with performance improvement, quality initiatives, The Joint Commission, and the Health Resources and Services Administration.
- Compose, type and transcribe correspondence, forms, reports, presentation materials and other written communication as required. Route written communication as appropriate.
- Communicate in person, virtually, via telephone and by email. May receive and screen visitors and handle general inquiries.
- Perform outreach to partner organizations and individuals to increase awareness of and engagement in services.
- Focus on providing compassionate and professional customer service and working proactively as part of the Team.
- Demonstrate competency in applicable computerized systems utilized in administering the program.
- Provide general administrative support for LSCC’s Mobile Mammography Team. Establish and maintain filing systems.
- Attend required meetings and in-service trainings.
- Demonstrate flexibility by adjusting work schedule as needed to respond to callback situations and occasional service provision on evenings and weekends.
- Fill in for Mobile Mammography Driver/Assistant, during occasional absences, to drive mobile mammography unit to scheduled location(s), ensuring continuous delivery of services.
- Assist with patient intake at mobile screening sites, as needed, including performing patient care duties such as receiving patients, communicating information about the screening received, and collecting and posting payment for screening services.
- Monitor, order and stock supplies.
- Complete supplemental Driver training upon employment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND LICENSE:
High School Diploma or GED- Experience in using a computer for online data entry, as well as software for word processing and spreadsheet development (Microsoft Word and Excel)
- Proof of insurability and clean driving record
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND LICENSE:
Prior medical office and/or healthcare setting experience- Prior customer support experience
- Bilingual English/Spanish language skills
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA)
