A qualified Mold Maker, has the overall responsibility for machines, fitting, assembling, and finishing metal parts to make and repair metal molds for the injection of plastic products, analyzing specifications, and applying knowledge of mold design and construction. Including:
- Build and/or repair injection molds in accordance with mold designs and accepted procedures.
- Perform final assembly of the mold
- Assemble molds in accordance with tool designs, accepted procedures, and ISO procedures.
- Perform quality checks as required by our standards and procedures.
- Make changes as necessary to the tool.
- Perform preventative maintenance, repairs, and modifications on injection molds.
- Ability to fabricate modern precision molds from blue prints and layouts.
- Able to understand 2D & 3D drawings and documentation.
- Proficient in all areas of mold building.
- Train and mentor to lower level apprentices and general labor associates.
- Result oriented and able to work without direct supervision.
- Perform basic repairs and preventative maintenance on machine shop equipment.
