An international food company is seeking for a qualified Sales Rep who has experience in food industry for 3-7 + years. Experience in presenting food/ beverage product to grocery store buyers or brokers (National or Regional) is a must.
- Must be able to travel Nationally after COVID about once a month for about 3-5days.
- Mostly work from home but must be able to commute to the office once a week for half day
This company has been around for about 100 years and able to locate their product at most major grocery stores, Costco and etc.

Business Hour: Monday to Friday – flex time if work 8 hours/day (core time is 8:00am-5:00pm but flexible between starting between 6:00am-10:00am)
Mostly work from home but needs to be at the office once a week

Job Description
- Develops and implements strategies to maintain and/or expand sales to achieve corporate goals.
- Prepares a plan for each account to identify and meet short and long-term needs.
- Forecasts the demand for product(s) within the North American market.
- Compiles lists of prospective customers for use as sales leads, based on information from newspapers, business directories, industry ads, trade shows, Internet Web sites, and other sources.
- Travels through the North American market to visit brokers, distributors and retail establishments to promote the sale of company products.
- Makes initial contacts with key personnel of targeted customers and builds a strong business rapport.
- Interfaces with customers to understand the customers’ overall objectives and requirements.
- Contacts customers on a regular basis to maintain account relationships, advise customers of new product and service offerings, and obtains feedback on products.
- Shares details with customers on additional offerings to provide value added service.
- Serves as a point of escalation for issues or activities that the customer encounters related to product sales.
- Expedites the resolution of customer problems/complaints.
- Conducts pre-contract liaisons with customers and negotiates contract terms and conditions.
- Prepares quotations and credit terms for new customers in accordance with company policy.
- Prepares and reviews sales contracts for orders obtained.
- Displays, demonstrates, presents and/or distributes samples, emphasizing salable features of the products and introducing new products at customers’ sites.
- Participates in trade shows by representing the organization and sharing information on products.
- Provides feedback to marketing and product development teams for future product enhancements.
- Researches market conditions and conducts feasibility studies to determine market demand for the company’s existing and new products.
- Works with brokers and distributors to share market and customer information and to develop good business rapport.
- Establishes professional customer/vendor relationships with appropriate customer personnel.
- Ensures collection of all A/R and follows up with the customers when payment is late.
- Other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
- Must have Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Marketing related field
- Must be able to commute to the office once a week for half day (other days are work from home)
- 3-7+ years of experience in related field in Food or Beverage industry.
- Account Manager experience for grocery chain headquarter or regional is a must
- Advanced selling and negotiation skills.
- Must be able to travel nationally including East Coast (once a month for 3-5 days) – maybe after winter or next year
- Must demonstrate sales planning, forecasting, and sales execution experience
- Proficient in EXCEL spreadsheet and PowerPoint presentation software.
- Must show proven ability to build and maintain strong, effective relationships with customers and functional groups.
- Must show aptitude to effectively interpret and use multiple information sources to develop customer-specific tactical plans and options.
- Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures.
- Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
