Network/Systems Technician Job at Mississippi Bend Area Education Agency
Location: Bettendorf AEA
General Description:
The Network Technician maintains network resources for the Agency and its districts. The Network Technician reports to the Coordinator of Technology & Printing. Each Agency employee is expected to further the mission of the Agency by serving on committees, working on projects, joining leadership groups, and other activities as determined by the Agency and their supervisor.
Responsibilities:
- Planning, design, implementation, documentation, administration, and ongoing support of LAN, Internet, and WAN technologies for internal and external customers.
- Desktop and server-related support for specialized applications and administration of network services and needs, including upgrading, troubleshooting, and other specific tasks.
- Responsible for network-related security and analysis of needs and growth.
- Assist districts and customers to help troubleshoot, understand, or accomplish their network, server, or technology-related issues.
- Train internal/external customers on new and existing technologies.
- Provide consulting services to districts upon request.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education: Minimum 2-year technical degree or equivalent
Basic Competencies:
- Proficient with supporting Windows 10/11, Macintosh macOS, iPad and other clients
- Understanding of Google Workspace and Active Directory administration
- Working knowledge of Windows and Linux server administration, and server virtualization
- Hands-on experience supporting wired and wireless network infrastructure
- Strong understanding of network design and protocols
- Strong understanding of cyber security best practices
Experience: Four years of work experience in computer and network troubleshooting is preferred.
