Job Summary
Gateway Community & Technical College invites applications for the Nurse Aide Skills Test Evaluators. This part-time position will provide an evaluation of skills during the state nurse aide test (KNAT) to Gateway's Nurse Aide students, nursing home training students, and others. Skills include but are not limited to: Vital Signs, Hand Hygiene, Range of Motion, Denture Care, and Catheter Care.
Job Duties:
- Promote an effective testing environment to further develop students into knowledgeable, competent, and compassionate healthcare professionals.
- Works as a team to evaluate testers on required skills for the selected version of the electronic skills competency.
- Collaborates with the KNAT Coordinator to maintain compliance with the testing sites for KNAT passed on state and federal regulations and guidelines.
- Maintains tests and records with full security in accordance with the CMS confidentiality agreement.
- Communicates with the KNAT Coordinator any supplies needed to conduct skills evaluations.
- Maintains a clean work environment in the testing lab classroom.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Minimum education requirement, associate degree nurse (ADN)
- Registered Nurse with current KY license.
Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years experience, with at least 1 year of experience in working with elderly patients (or chronically ill patients of any age) in any healthcare setting. Experience must be documented on resume.
- Not required, but previous experience working in the capacity of a Nurse Aide is preferred.
- Experience in and understanding of working with students from diverse populations is preferred.
- Experience working at the community college level is preferred.
