The Salvation Army in Albuquerque, NM is looking to fill a part-time Office Assistant position. The successful candidate for this position will have excellent knowledge of computers and all Microsoft Office Suite software, thorough and organized. This position does have paid time off and paid sick leave.
The Office Assistant responsibilities will be split between General Office/Finance and Human Resource duties. General office/Finance duties will include receiving and verifying invoices, ordering supplies, receptionist responsibilities and maintaining the system for tracking vehicle maintenance. HR responsibilities will include ensuring accurate records in relation to new hires, annual reviews, vacation and sick leave usage. This person will conduct and/or schedule on-boarding of new employees and provide guidance relative to personnel policies and procedures. This position will assist with development of job descriptions and ensure payroll is processed and distributed.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must have excellent knowledge of computers and all Microsoft Office Suite software applications, extensive knowledge and use of Outlook and Adobe Acrobat
- HS Diploma or GED required
- Some college coursework preferred
- Minimum 2 years of administrative assistant, finance clerk & human resources experience preferred
- Must have excellent interpersonal, telephone and communication skills, both oral and written
- Must be very thorough, and organized
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
- A good background in basic accounting skills, data entry and human resources
- An understanding, respect and acceptance of the philosophy of The Salvation Army.
- Valid New Mexico Driver’s License and ability to pass a motor vehicle record check
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Qualified individuals must be able to perform the essential duties of the position with or without accommodation. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, stand, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl and reach with hands and arms on a continuous basis. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 20 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 20 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 60 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Must have the ability to operate telephone, a desktop or laptop computer, as well as the ability to access and produce information from a computer, and to understand written information.
