Rutgers University Behavioral Health Care (UBHC), established in 1971, offers a full continuum of evidence based behavioral health and addiction services for children, adolescents, adults, and seniors throughout New Jersey. UBHC’s 1,060 experienced behavioral health professionals and support staff are dedicated to treatment, prevention, and education. UBHC, one of the largest providers of behavioral health care in the country, has a budget of $260 million and has 15 sites throughout New Jersey. Services are readily accessible and include: inpatient, outpatient, partial hospitalization, screening, crisis stabilization, family/caregiver support, community outreach and case management, supportive housing, supported employment, prevention and consultation, employee assistance programs, and a licensed therapeutic school from preschool through high school. Specialty services include the New Jersey suicide prevention helpline and peer help lines for police, veterans, active military, teachers, mothers of special needs children and child protective service workers. In FY2016, UBHC treated 16,199 consumers, had 24,502 admissions, and touched the lives of 19,441 individual callers through peer support. In addition, UBHC is the primary mental health training resource for the New Jersey departments of Human Services, Children and Families, and Corrections, delivering 16,000 trainings each year.

Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Office Manager in Outpatient Services for Rutgers University Behavioral Health Care.
Under direction of the Program Manager, Office Manager manages office support operations and activities for the Unit. This position provides related secretarial and administrative services as required.

- Plans and schedules the work of the section to make maximum effective utilization of employees, equipment, materials and resources within budgetary requirements.
- Works collaboratively with the Director, Clinician Administrator and Program Manager/Clinician Supervisor to ensure that the unit operates efficiently and effectively on a daily basis.
- Assists the Director, Program Manager, Clinician Administrator and or Clinician Supervisor with budget preparation.
- Recommends the hiring, firing, promoting, demoting, merit increases, transfers and/or disciplining of employees and other personnel changes for the employees that report directly to her/him.
- Develops and implements controls for work assignments.
- Maintains department accounts, monitoring expenditures and insuring compliance with budgets.
- Assists with support staff functioning; answering phones, greeting clients and appropriately triaging clients.
- Acts as back up to other secretarial staff in his/her absence, performing all of their required duties.
- Ensures that Physical Plant complies with the health and safety regulations established by UMD/UBHC; that any necessary repairs are done on a timely basis, cleanliness issues are directed to the Housekeeping staff; and safety issues to Safety Coordinator; ensures that only authorized personnel are on the premises.

Minimum Education and Experience
- Associate Degree plus two (2) or more years of administrative experience or lead secretarial experience.
- Equivalent education, experience and/or training may be substituted for the degree requirement

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel and be able to enter data into and run reports from Microsoft Access.

Employees who are not eligible for a booster at the time of an offer of employment must provide proof they have received a booster upon eligibility and upload proof of same.
