What you will do:
The Operations Specialist for our CSR department will be responsible for identifying and initiating process improvement initiatives focused on improving efficiency in a safe, environmentally friendly, and stable manner, as well as focus on reducing cost, and increasing customer satisfaction. In addition, this role will also provide expertise in a certain area of production of a product. The Operations Specialist will also develop and promote solutions using technology and technical methods to increase efficiency and productivity of production.
- Monitor and maintain system and equipment health of assigned area (assist with other Operations Specialists within the department as needed)
- Prepare purge/flush plans, prepare energy isolation plans, prepare moisture and post-repair purge plans.
- Coordinate equipment maintenance scheduling and planning in conjunction with Maintenance Gatekeeper and Maintenance Planner/Supervisor
- Work closely with engineers, maintenance, operators, and other technical specialists
- Assist with training of chemical operators for assigned area
- Participate in development and/or review of standards within area of expertise
- All other duties assigned.
What we need from you:
- High School diploma with 5 or more years of experience in the chemical industry, or Chemical Process Technology Certification with 3 or more years of experience in the chemical industry. Associates degree in a science related field (chemistry, environmental science, biology), preferred.
- 5 or more years of professional experience in a technical/production environment required.
- Must have the ability to read and understand P&ID/ISO drawings.
- Must be able occasionally work nights or weekends when required (emergency situations)
- Must have ability to assume department on-call duties
- Advanced analytical skills
- Excellent MS Office skills (Words, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Must have excellent communication skills for all levels of the organization, written and verbal
- Ability to troubleshoot system issues, preferred
- Ability to demonstrate technical competency in the areas of safety and process improvement
- Proven leadership skills and ability to motivate others
- Solid presentation and training skills
