Your Specific Responsibilities:

Clinical Data Review and Quality Assurance Duties To Include:

  • Inputs client clinical data into CAREWare/HMS/and local Access database (grant required) systems and scans documents into the HMS or other systems, including but not limited to demographics, lab values, encounter dates, service type, medications, referral findings, etc.
  • Extracts data from medical records in HMS or other medical records.
  • Verifies that all required data is being entered into the systems.
  • Works closely with Data Analyst reviewing patient records and identifying areas for needed quality improvement.
  • Generates client level clinical data reports, as required or requested, including but not limited to RSR Report, RDR Report, Custom Clinical Reports, HAB Indicator Reports, etc.
  • Reviews data for accuracy.
  • Prepares reports using Excel, Word, Power Point, and other Microsoft Systems.
  • Attends/completes CAREWare/HMS and any other system-related training as required/available.

Other duties as required:

  • Assists with client registration and checkout, including, but not limited to copying, faxing, completion of forms and documents, verification of payer source/demographics/income, and client interaction.
  • Assists with incoming telephone traffic, including triaging/coordinates telephoned requests for clinical services with the triage nurse and/or physician.
  • Maintains and organizes medical records room including pulling/filing client medical records, maintaining client/medical records confidentiality and security.
  • Performs related duties as required, including performance of additional interpreter duties, consistent with skill level, and as needed.
  • As a state employee, in a County Health Department, incumbent will participate in disaster preparedness and/or recovery activities.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of basic medical and Pharmaceutical terminology.
  • Knowledge of basic computer software.
  • Knowledge of normal lab values.
  • Ability to follow instructions.
  • Ability to keep accurate records.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma
  • Valid Florida Driver's License

Incumbent may be required to work before, during and/or beyond normal work hours or days in the event of an emergency. Emergency duty required of the incumbent includes working in special needs or Red Cross shelters, or performing other emergency duties including, but not limited to, responses to or threats involving any disaster or threat of disaster, man-made or natural.
