Looking for an experienced truck driver leaving metro Charlotte area delivering to most regions of the country.

This is a non cdl 26' straight truck OTR interstate opportunity. We are looking for a driver to be out approximately 3.5 weeks out of month and home for approx. 4-5 days out of the month. Work week is typically M-F w/ weekends off (although exceptions may occur based on holidays and load PU or DO times).

Route destinations are not set more than a couple days in advance so you will be expected to be able to adjust to different start times and distances. There may also be layover days and shorter hauls and/or partial deliveries added between any PU or DO.

Pay is .42 per mile loaded/ .25 per mile deadhead. Diesel/def, truck insurance, roadside, repairs/pm and equipment/supplies all provided. Detention ($25/hr after 2nd hr.) and lumper pay are also additionally paid as they occur.

1 day per week nightly hotel (max $100) is included (Sat into Sun). Payday is every Friday running as a 1099 independent contractor

Responsibilities

• Transport finished goods and raw materials over land to and from manufacturing plants or retail and distribution centers
• Inspect vehicles daily for mechanical items and safety issues and perform preventative maintenance
• Meet delivery schedules!
• Document and log work/rest periods and miles spent driving
• Comply with DOT driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking and break periods) as well as with company policies and procedures
• Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions
• Collect/verify delivery instructions, ensure and provide proof load is secured properly and collect and upload signed paperwork upon completion of delivery

Skills

• Proven work experience as a truck driver
• Hands on experience with electronic equipment and software (GPS, ELD, Apps)
• Ability to drive long hours and travel regularly
• Extensive knowledge of applicable truck driving rules and regulations
• No recent moving or driving violations
• Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations (traffic, weather conditions etc)

* MUST have diesel truck experience. CDL preferred, but not required.

* MUST have smart phone, valid drivers' license, and clean driving record for last 3 years. (no violations or at fault accidents).

* MUST provide current mvr and DOT medical card (medical examiners certificate)
