    Qualifications:
    1. Degree with a license or certification as a School Social Worker or school guidance counselor or related
    certificate.
    2. Experience working in multiple areas of a school system.
    3. Experience working with a diverse community.
    4. Experience working with community agencies including law enforcement, juvenile probation, and human services.
    5. Satisfactory work record & criminal/child abuse clearances (Acts 34, 114 and 151).
    6. Such additional or alternatives to the above qualifications as the Allentown Board of Directors and Superintendent may determine appropriate and acceptable.     Summary
    Provides the prevention services, case management and connections to community resources by assisting the Director of Student Services in performing the following duties.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities
    1. Performs related duties as assigned by the Building Principal and the Director of Student Services.
    2. Works with school staff at assigned schools
    3. Works with referred children and families to identify and provide effective strategies to reduce truancy. Examples of strategies include: conducting home visits; increasing involvement in pro-social activities & peer groups; providing educational opportunities; connecting to mentors; locating behavioral, social and emotional supports; and making referrals to school and community resources.
    4. Provides and or supports school programs such as Violence Prevention Activities, Student Assistance Program; Olweus Bullying Prevention Program, ATOD Prevention Programs, and Restorative Practices.
    5. Collaborates with community partners.
    6. Collaborates with related school staff.
    7. Completes all required school district training.
    8. Complies with all evaluation requirements.
