Eclipse is seeking an Outside Plant Technician with Telecommunications and fiber experience to join our Client’s team. Our Client is an independent telecommunications company proudly serving South Texas who has been providing better broadband, cable, wireless and telephone services to the community they love. Position Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):

• Installation, splicing, testing, and maintenance of fiber optic lines
• Complete repairs of customer premise voice, broadband and VoIP equipment
• Wires and connects new equipment
• Explains equipment and services and answers customer questions
• Maintains and repairs existing voice and broadband at customer premise equipment by testing to locate trouble, determines, and completes necessary repairs
• Participates in and willingness to work within an on-call rotation
• Coordinate and communicate with customers to determine problems, and acceptable resolutions
• May place direct buried cable or aerial cable by operating plowing, digging, trenching, and/or aerial lift equipment
• Maintains buried fiber cable by testing, and repairing fiber cable, performs related construction tasks as required
• Utilizes testing equipment to determine maintenance and repair needs and completes necessary network repairs
• Performs additional duties as assigned by management

Position Requirements:

• Knowledge of telecommunications industry
• Knowledge of voice, broadband technologies, and equipment
• Knowledge of structured wiring, and programming of customer equipment
• Knowledge of Rural Utility Services practices, and standards
• Learn and become knowledgeable of company products, and services
• Learn and become knowledgeable of company policies, and procedures
• Skill in operating service and testing equipment
• Ability to communicate with co-workers and various business contacts in a professional and courteous manner
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as diagrams, schematics, instruction manuals, blueprints, and specification sheets
• Ability to follow safety policies and procedures
• Ability to evaluate, test and repair sophisticated equipment
• Ability to work independently, and make sound technical decisions using information at hand
• Ability to effectively function as a team player

Education & Experience:

• 3-plus years in telecommunications plant installations experience desired
• Experience in performing fusion splicing, and OLTS/OTDR testing desired
• Working knowledge of inside, and outside Active/GPON/XGSPON fiber optic network infrastructure, engineering design, and construction

Certifications, Licenses, and Registrations:

Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license, have an excellent driving record, and be insurable under the Company’s policy carrier.

Pay: $20.00 - $35.00 per hour
