Job Description
BAE Systems is currently seeking Candidates with deck covering experience for our San Diego Repair facility. These personnel will be responsible for all facets of Painting & Deck Covering on military or commercial vessels.
2023 CA Salary Range: $73,582 - $125,062
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills
- General knowledge of Navsea STDI 009-26 & 009-32 applicable requirements.
- 5 Year minimum experience with installation and repair of deck coverings as follows:
- Unglazed porcelain tile deck covering.
- New wear resistant deck tile covering.
- New electrical grade sheeting and matting covering.
- New carpeting deck covering.
- New vinyl composition and solid vinyl tile deck covering.
- New light weight concrete deck covering.
- Preparing locations for installation/Rip out existing , prep metal surfaces to be painted by removal of dirt, grease, rust, scale and old paint contaminants in accordance with work requirements.
- Mixes materials in accordance with manufactures recommendations and material Data sheet.
- Properly installation of containments masks: Masks and tapes off necessary areas to be protected prior to start of procedures.
- Performs related tasks as assigned, some of which may become essential to the position.
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
- High school graduate or equivalent .
- Must have knowledge of many different types of Decking applications processes and it's appropriate use.
- Must comply with company's safety rules and Osha's standards.
- Must be able to wear required protective equiptment.
- Must be able to obtain a DBIDS credential.
