General Accountability:
Under general supervision from the paint supervisor with inputs from manufacturing engineering, maintenance, and quality departments. This person safely performs paint technician and maintenance and quality duties such as overall system performance, testing, maintenance, upkeep, record keeping. They will also complete PM’s and repairs for equipment within a team environment. In addition, assist the painting process by performing highly detailed inspections and daily maintenance of paint process equipment and validates the finished goods for conformance.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Maintain a clean and safe work environment as a service to the paint department.
Details are dependent on duties assigned, in general the duties consist of the following:
Candidate has attention to detail and task oriented completing tasks affect the paint process.
Checks all blast system components, area, & inputs for proper operation.
Checks all variables required for proper paint application.
Performs daily washer & WWD inspections to ensure proper operation of the system.
Perform daily washer titration checks to verify the cleaning/pretreatment process is in control.
Ensures required wash system spare parts and sufficient chemical is on-site at all times.
Calibrates and maintains paint mixing units. Repairs units as required.
Tests samples parts daily to ensure a quality product is being applied and produced.
Maintains and rebuilds all paint guns. Ensures replacements parts are on hand.
Prepares and cleans all special color pressure pots for painters.
Checks paint kitchen operation and ensure the product is within allowable specifications.
Changes out all paint kitchen paints, and checks daily operation of all equipment used.
Organizes HAZMAT building to ensure FIFO, Order and Compliance is performed and manages empties.
Works on quality-process-related issues directly with Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, and related suppliers.
Qualifications:
Minimum high school diploma or GED.
Preferred, Associate Degree or Certificate in Painting or Auto body.
Basic knowledge of paint products and or willing to learn.
Six months to two years or more related experience.
Equipment: Cleaning equipment, safety shoes, safety glasses/goggles, gloves other PPE as needed.
